PSG were already 1-0 up through Ousmane Dembele when Mbappe found the back of the net midway through the first half against Lorient. On first viewing it seemed a wonderful effort, but slow-motion replays suggested Mbappe may have got a bit lucky.

Mbappe's goal left viewers baffled and certainly not convinced his flick had been intentional.
Football fan @HodgeLuke wrote on X: "Not in a million years did he mean that!"
Another supporter, @PaulTheFace_ , added: "He meant that about as much as Ben White meant that volley last night."
Arsenal fan @stuafc71 also compared the goal to Ben White's finish against Chelsea: "What a cheeky back flick goal from mbappe. If he meant that Benny blanco defo meant his goal v Chelsea."
However, Mbappe fan @Tezzathekchen was convinced by the PSG forward: "Brilliant Mbappe backheel goal! He starts the move with a good pass to the wings and then displays his GOAT tier movement, anticipation and finishing!"

Mbappe followed up his goal with a brilliant assist for Dembele to score his second of the match. The striker nutmegged his defender down the left flank before sliding a ball across goal for the former Barca star to tap home. Mbappe would make it a brace later in the game, making the score 4-1 on the night. Luis Enrique's side will be crowned champions on Wednesday if Monaco fail to beat Lille in the later kick-off.
